Mabeta Njanga Health Campaign
Cameroon has been involved in the fight against lack of health workers and has engaged in the training of several health personnel like; doctors, nurses, first aiders and midwives, some of whom just see these sectors as employment opportunities rather than as a place of passionate service.
Despite the many infrastructures, and numerously graduated individuals from these institutions, we still have lack of adequate health information and accessibility of people in rural communities to Health Care. It is without doubt however that we are still in dire need of a health solution that can close this loop hole.
Member states of the World Health Organization (WHO) have realized that the provision of sophisticated hospitals with highly trained staff is not the most efficient way of improving health and have identified the need to increase equitable access to health care workers by 2030.
Emphasis is now laid on ‘health’ rather than disease and on health care rather than medical care. We therefore decided to launch the First Edition of the Community Health Advocacy training with 15 health professionals certified.
