Buea Central Prison Outreach

The Buea Central prison is the main prison in the South West Region of
Cameroon with over 1000 inmates. Due to the enclosed nature of their
surroundings, they have several health challenges ranging from mental
illnesses, malaria, typhoid, to several other infectious diseases.
During survey, our partner team, the Volunteer Medical Corp (VMC) had
interview sessions with some of the inmates who reported their exposure
to mosquitoes and thus, reoccurring malaria, rodents like rats, poor sanitation and hunger. thus a very significant way of spreading love.
This was carried out on February 14th 2020, a very significant day on that
basis we decided to reach out to these inmates with;

  • sufficient, very contextualized sensitization on malaria prevention, personal and environmental sanitation and hygiene.
  • Food items, toiletries, toothbrushes and tools for Food items, toiletries,
